The second book of my Savagespace sci-fi trilogy is published today.
As I do the ongoing work to expand my catalog, the second book of my new sci-fi trilogy, Savagespace is published today.
Savagespace
As murderous anti-life forces emerge from savagespace threatening the galaxy…
The motley crew of the starship Moon Raven – refugee humans, dwarfs, a kitsune, and a half-elf – might be the only hope against an unyielding foe.
For millennia, savagespace and its horrors were relegated to legend and myth.
Unrealspace opened the way for faster-than-light travel across the galaxy. Unlocking the secret of folding space/time promises instantaneous travel across vast distances. But this comes with a terrible price.
As the people of the universe roll the dice, will they get a critical hit or a critical fail?
Savagespace is a Science-Fiction Fantasy series blending space opera and D&D-style adventures for fans of Star Wars, Dragonlance, and Independence Day.
My new novel – Revelations and Reconciliations (Savagespace Book Two)
The blurb:
The universe has rolled for attack.
In the aftermath of Alliances and Consequences, Captain Darius Noble and the growing crew of the Moon Raven find themselves in the middle of an increasingly precarious interstellar conflict.
When a signal from the Grand Master of the Universal Energies Ontology draws them into a quest on a dead world, the ensuing adventure will either lead them to a way to stop the incursions from savagespace or bring them to their doom.
Darius and his motley crew of misfits must risk everything to protect sentient life across the galaxy. Can they overcome the challenges and save everyone before the mindflayers annihilate everything?
Read Revelations and Reconciliations to find out!
I’m super excited to share this new trilogy. It leans heavily into sci-fantasy, since the aliens are unabashedly familiar fantasy creatures like dwarves, elves, orcs, and so on.
Book two goes a bit deeper into the Dungeons and Dragons angle. Without giving anything key away, know that you get a dungeon crawl of a sort.
Savagespace is full of monsters
As I wrote when I shared the publications of Book 1 – Alliances and Consequences – there are monsters in savagespace. They provide the impetus for a great deal of the forward motion in this story.
Savagespace is the second series that I have written as a planner rather than a pantser. The outline was originally for 6 novels. However, it was clear early on that the length of these individually felt too short (since half of them were under 50,000 words). Combining them made perfect sense (little time passes from one to the next), so I’m now sharing a trilogy.
What exactly is savagespace? To quote one of my characters,
“Savagespace is a dimension of darkness that spawns a form of anti-life. In Savagespace, life is what anti-life feeds on.”
Book One – Alliances and Consequences – is available for eBook, paperback, and audiobook across a wide range of platforms. Amazon options are here, further options like Kobo, Apple Books, Smashwords, and more are here.
Book 2 – Revelations and Reconciliations – is available for eBook, paperback, and audiobook across a wide range of platforms. Amazon options are here (Audible will arrive shortly. There was an issue with the upload on their end). Further options like Kobo, Apple Books, Smashwords, and more are here.
Book 3 – Challengers and Survivors – will be published on November 19th (pre-order options are currently available across various platforms).
Writing to get to the next book one
As of this writing, I’m editing the audiobook recording for Challengers and Survivors. Note to self – for real, three books in a year, within 6 months from edit to publish, is a tad ambitious.
I’ve got a finished standalone that is ready to edit next. I’m almost done with the first new book in the Forgotten Fodder series. A short story in that series, which takes place between the first and second series, is coming out later this month in the Crooked Volume 3 anthology. Forgotten Fodder: Proof of Life offers a unique perspective on that universe.
As per usual, I have a couple of other ideas at various stages of development.
I’m working on my next book one. Today, however, I celebrate the release of this new book two!
Thanks for reading. As I share my creative journey with you, I conclude with this: How are you inspired to be your own creator – whatever form that takes?
