With the success of the first Alcubierre-Natario Warp Drive in 2074, the people of Earth colonized and/or terraformed exoplanets across the galaxy. Over time, the colonies formed 3 governments:
- The Near Earth Colony Coalition (NECC)
- The New Earth Exoplanet Alliance (NEEA)
- The Independent Human Colonies Federation (IHCF)
In 2539, The NECC and NEEA went to war. Rather than enlist or conscript soldiers, both sides created clones. They would be the soldiers. Twelve to fourteen “donor templates” were used. This created clones specialized in infantry, heavy infantry, pilots, mechanics, medics, cavalry (tanks and mechs), and support.
By 2542, clones did nearly all the fighting for both sides.
During the next 20 years, the war raged across both space and colony planets. The clones followed orders to fight, devastating landscapes and cities on numerous worlds along the way.
The IHCF, alongside alien allies – called the canutus – intervened and overthrew both the NECC and NEEA governments, bringing the war to an end. A new, single government was formed:
- The Alliance of Earth Colonies Confederation (AECC)
Now, in 2572, the tens of thousands of surviving clones are an underclass. They have no rights and are afforded little regard. The clones struggle to find food, shelter, and work just to keep existing.
The forgotten fodder never forget
The forgotten fodder continues on as best they can.
Clones are not perfect copies of the people they’re cloned from; they’ve been altered. This has given them improved visual capabilities (they all have yellow-gold irises), enhanced survivability, added resilience, and eidetic memories.
Additionally, the clones received other modifications to their ambitions, so that they’d never rebel against their creators.
About two years ago, clones began to die in an unexpected, horrid way. Because of their underclass status, nobody cared to investigate. Yet the clones believe a new virus – an engineered virus – is the culprit.
Then a former infantry clone witnesses a most unusual murder. And this is where our story begins.
Unexpected Witness
Forgotten Fodder Book 1
When a high-ranking businessman and two clones are murdered, Marshal Onima Gwok of the Confederation Bureau of Investigation (CBI) gets assigned the case. But nothing quite adds up. Is there something more insidious going on?
There is just one witness – a clone.
When the war ended ten years ago, the clones who had fought it were discarded, forgotten, and became second-class citizens of the new confederation.
Jace Rojas, designated AC J7-2247, is an infantry clone. When he proves to be more helpful than just being a witness to a murder, Onima decides to bring Jace along to join her team as they look for answers across multiple solar systems.
But every question seems to produce no answers – only more questions.
Will this be the start of a new war – or something worse?
The Clone Conundrum
Forgotten Fodder Book 2
Infantry Clone Jace Rojas and CBI Marshal Onima Gwok have uncovered a sinister plot, but in the quest for more answers, all they find are new questions. As they continue the investigation into the murder of the business executive, more evidence of a vast conspiracy to topple the government using clones emerges.
In addition to Jace, Onima relies heavily on her team. Specifically, brilliant cryptanalyst and former hacker Feroz Jones, medical examiner Dr. Maira Patel, and pilot Yael Amber.
Onima has been warned that someone on her team is sharing information with CBI higher-ups potentially tied to the late executive’s company…and the conspirators. When Deputy Marshal Kara Martinez is assigned to the team by a suspect CBI director, Onima can’t help but wonder if she will be a help – or a hindrance.
How do the conspirators intend to use the clones to overthrow the Confederation leadership? And what obstacles will the mole throw in the way of Onima, Jace, and the team as they attempt to solve the clone conundrum?
Unraveling Conspiracy
Forgotten Fodder Book 3
Betrayal!
The mole has shown their true colors. An act of sabotage has produced dire consequences for Marshal Onima Gwok, Deputy Marshal Kara Martinez, and infantry clone Jace Rojas.
But the investigation into the vast conspiracy to use clones to topple the Confederation is far from complete. Adding a new and skilled replacement for the traitor, the team continues to bring together the disparate pieces of the puzzle. But Onima paid for her trust before – can she, and the team, trust again?
There are other dangers lurking in the shadows. Insidious forces will stop at nothing to bring their plan to fruition – and conspirators remain inside the CBI, the monopolistic business entity that is Gray and Chuang, and possibly the Confederation itself.
Traveling across space from colony to colony, the team is leaving no clue uninvestigated. The conspiracy is unraveling – but the clock is ticking. Can they pull all the loose threads before it’s too late?
Bold Moves
Forgotten Fodder Book 4
Time’s up!
All the pieces are in place and the conspirators have set their plot in motion.
Confederation Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Marshal Onima Gwok, Deputy Marshal Kara Martinez, and clone Jace Rojas must use every resource available to them to halt the conspiracy in its tracks.
But the CBI has been compromised. Onima and her team must work to not only save the Confederation – but the lives of tens of thousands of clones throughout colonial space.
Taking Jace, the unexpected witness, across space and through the clone conundrum to unravel the conspiracy has been all about bold moves. Not just for Onima and her team – but the conspirators.
Will Jace and his companions end the conspiracy – or will the conspirators end them?
