Decluttering your space is a step towards better being able to declutter your mind.
I own a lot of paperbacks. Also, I tend not to reread my books. While meditating the other day, I determined that it was time to scale down the collection to only those with special meaning to me, had been signed in two cases, or are otherwise special.
Two shelves of my wall of bookcase are cleared. One now, because I started to spread some of what was cluttered there out, and it feels really good.
I tend to collect clutter in my space. Papers wind up here and there, along with business cards and various random things. And while I am a firm believer that a messy desk is a sign of a clever mind, it can still become overwhelming and stifling to creativity.
The past year had a whole lot that happened. A lot of change and movement and insanity both on a personal and on the grand scale. Many of my friends are also struggling, on many levels, for any number of reasons.
Between recent reading material and a couple small but important “ah-hah!” moments, I have been striving to shift actions that I take, and how I allow my thoughts to run about inside my head.
Consciousness creates reality. The single biggest impediment to my forward motion is…drum roll please…me. A lot of it comes from long-held but deeply rooted fears, mostly of abandonment due to failure or success. Coupled with an almost immature need to be accepted by other people, I find myself in neutral when I desire to be in drive.
New Years Resolutions tend to be flimsy and easily discarded as such. New Years Actions, however, are more powerful, and empowering.
Declutter the space, to impact mind, body and soul
In addition to decluttering my bookshelves, I also cleaned up my desks. Removing the clutter actually changes the energy in here, which will help to shift my energetic works.
Yes, there is much to do to effect change on the grand scale…but it starts small. I am striving to shift my attitude, so that I can create the most spectacular and amazing 2019 possible.
These are some of the actions I am undertaking to improve my life. Some are continuations of past actions…but intentional action is part of the manifestation process. Thought, feeling and action, like decluttering, creates the world we live in.
Blogging. I will continue to blog twice a week at The Ramblings of the Titanium Don. I have begun to share blog posts with a wider audience on Medium. In just one month there, I have discovered several new authors and potential mentors, and am very excited.
Podcasting. I am continuing to alternate this blog with Awareness for Everyone bi-weekly. The next step is to determine how to promote and potentially monetize the blog…or get my voice out there more so that maybe I could get some audiobook recording gigs.
Novel Writing. The unnamed Sci-fi Omnibus is moving along, and I have some ideas for how to begin breaking it down to multiple novels. I am still absolutely loving the story, and want to begin making some progress in getting it out there. Still needs a name.
Also, I need to get back to The Source Chronicles Book IV – Guardians. I do desire to complete the series. Which brings me to:
Editing. I need to get back to editing The Source Chronicles Book III – Harbinger. It’s been done for a while, but I really want to be able to get it out by the fall.
There’s more.
Decluttering thoughts
I am striving to be more mindful about where my head is. For example, when driving, I frequently get annoyed by idiots on the road. I am working to take more time to enjoy the drives, and not let the actions of others beyond my control get to me.
Further, it occurs to me that often I get caught up in conversations about people that don’t serve them, or me, all that well. It is stupid easy to gossip and badmouth people. Generally the intent isn’t negative…but the effect that it produces is. SO – I am working on staying out of such conversations, and staying focused on keeping more to the positive and useful.
And then there is how I think about myself. I am working on being more conscious of how I talk about myself inside my head. It’s important that I be more of a cheerleader and less of a down-talker. I need to focus on the good about myself, and not become annoyed or berating when I make a mistake…because mistakes will be made.
Lastly, a couple specific projects, which you will see in the coming months.
Declutter priorities
You are Amazing – How to Create a Kickass Life is coming soon. It is complete, and out to beta-readers. Further, I am working on a companion for this new self-help/motivation/inspiration book. I am recording the audiobook.
Going forward, I am working on learning better marketing, possibly getting myself a coach of some sort along the way. Also, I am seeking means to talk about conscious reality creation as a public speaker. The challenge is to take these ideas – and act on them.
One step at a time. One foot in front of the other. Small bits to avoid overwhelm. Let’s kickass, 2019!
